Welcome to the Cook County Project Rainbow Bookmark Design Contest! For the first time ever, Cook County will select its official bookmark for school year 2025-26.
Now, we want you to design it!
Starting August 15, submit an entry on the form below. Designs must be turned in by 5 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2025.
Winning bookmarks will be printed and distributed at the Cook County building in celebration of National Book Month in October. The winner in each of our two categories will have their bookmark designs displayed on this website and as a stand-up banner in the Cook County lobby.
- The contest is open to kids in grades K-6 who reside in Cook County, Illinois. Winners will be chosen in two categories: grades K-3, and grades 4-6.
- Each winner in each category will receive a Kindle Kids Colorsoft reader.
- The winners will have the opportunity to visit with President Toni Preckwinkle and have an official resolution honoring their work this fall.
- Artwork should relate to books, reading and/or your community. Artwork must be non-AI generated, original and completed independently by the child.
- Contestants are limited to one entry.
- Art becomes the property of Cook County’s Project Rainbow Initiative.
